Configure Your Appliance
Overview
This chapter explains how to set up your network settings and other
configuration tasks.
Gather Network Settings Information
Collect the following information from your systems administrator. You will
need this information to configure the network settings on your appliance.
• DHCP and IP Address Information:
– Does your network use a DHCP server?
– If you do not use DHCP, what IP address is assigned to your appliance?
• Subnet Mask Information:
– Will you use a subnet mask for the appliance LAN interface?
– If you are using a subnet mask, what is the mask?
• Gateway Information:
– Will you use a default gateway for packet routing?
– If you use a default gateway, what is the IP address of the gateway?
About the NetBotz Appliance Utility CD
You can use the NetBotz Appliance Utility CD to install the following
applications on any supported system:
Advanced View: A Java-based user interface for monitoring and
managing your NetBotz Room Monitor 355.
Serial Configuration Utility: A Java-based application that you can use
to configure the network settings on your NetBotz Room Monitor 355.
Java Runtime Environment (JRE)
By default, the NetBotz Appliance Utility will copy the NetBotz 355
documentation to your system. You can also access these PDF files from the
/docs subdirectory of the CD.
